not only do i agree that being an art deco bride would be really neat, but isn’t she the prettiest? lavender espadrilles, cap sleeves and that lace! i shouldn’t get ahead of myself here, but this is my kinda bride and i hope to mimic her ease and natural beauty on my wedding day

Ah! I want my bob haircut back so I can be an art deco bride…

the time traveler’s wife was a good read, but terrible flick (if you have read the book). the only thing — and i mean only — i liked about the film was the setting of claire and henry’s wedding: green and beautiful.

and the reason i like the picture above is because it reminds me of this part of the film. perhaps when i get married, it will look something like either of these. 10 months ago / 46 notes
since i discovered cake boss on netflix instant, my exposure to impressive cakes has gone from nil to wowzah. and sure, this little cake is likely far too simple (and small, for that matter) to ever be on that show, but it sure is pretty nonetheless. 12 months ago / 7 notes
some fashion commentators were saying this dress wasn’t a typical design of the designer, sarah burton, and they wanted kate — or shall i say princess catherine? the duchess of cambridge? — to wear something a bit more dramatic.
i completely disagree, i’m glad she went for something more timeless. everyone, and i mean everyone raves about grace kelly’s timelessness and beauty. so who better to emulate?
like tim gunn says, it’s a classic silhouette, simple and will never go out of style. this girly girl is a fan.

it should come as no surprise that this girly girl is pretty interested in the royal wedding. weddings are typically beautiful, charming events where girliness is at its height, so the wedding of all weddings of prince william and kate middleton is surely something to take notice of (that, and it’s everywhere so it’s a little hard to not take notice).
i don’t buy into that fairytale business, as a wedding doesn’t signify happily ever after; if anything, it marks the beginning of a lot of work to make a relationship flourish over a lifetime. nonetheless, we all know this will be a beautiful event.
on my end, no formal tea parties will be had; no tiny cucumber sandwiches will be feasted upon. my sunday’s best will remain in the closet. i will watch the royal wedding while sipping on my normal morning tea (might be at a significantly earlier hour than normal). i will also blog a picture or two, but i will not blog your faces off with the royal wedding craze.

i don’t know much about weddings or wedding planning. i don’t know much about wedding cakes and the various components that go into them, but i do know that this is the prettiest little wedding cake i ever did see!

oregonians love their oregon, and more specifically, portlanders love their portland (examples also here, here and here).
since i’m originally from oregon, it’s only natural i channel (and support) this generalization and share anything along the stationary lines that can showcase my love for my beloved homestate.

what a marvelous wedding photo considering rain is seemingly every bride’s nightmare.
the sweet touches of this photo are surmounting:
her red heels, with the popped foot
his converse sneakers
the red parasol
the fact that you cannot actually see the kiss
the brick wall
